Excellent cuisine with portions to fill you up. Absolutely comfortably furnished. Reservation tel. absolutely recommendable. For Lake Constance holidaymakers, the LÖWEN is an insider tip for the hinterland, which (unfortunately) has got around. Nice for the landlord, a shame for spontaneous visit ideas, as there are usually no more tables. Are there regularly as locals, have never been disappointed by the Pfaff family's kitchen! Keep it up! Update from July 30th, 2020: Today again culinary enjoyment outside under shady trees at 30 degrees. 11/13/2020: takeaway service in coronary times helps as a small consolation. Food brought in flux and warmed up at home - done.

It was my first time there. It was love at first sight. Imaginative regional menu. Creatively composed dishes rich in detail. Can be finely combined. The ideal portion size to enjoy a starter, a main course and a dessert. First off, be sure to try the menu. Extremely competent, careful staff. Farewell by the boss. First choice at the lake.

The lion was an institution 20 years ago, when the mother of the current owner was still cooking. It was our first time with our son and current boss last year after we were mostly disappointed with the food in Lake Constance and had learned about the Linzgau chefs. We were all absolutely thrilled. You can taste that Mr. Pfaff uses the best products. The preparation takes place with a great sense for taste and each dish has the special "whistle". The presentation is also correct. At the weekend we went to the Lion for the second time. The expectations were high. But we were not disappointed. The pikeperch was firm and tasty. The side dish was served on an extra plate and not somehow packed on it. The lamb was one of the best we have ever had. The service is friendly and attentive. The whole thing was still available at an extremely fair price. Once again we were extremely satisfied. Of the Linzgau chefs we have tried so far, the lion is number 1. All that remains to be hoped for is that the restaurateurs in the region learn a little. Because the last place is usually taken in the lion. Rightly so. Keep it up!

Just good food ..

We came unannounced this afternoon with 20 people. It was already 3 p.m. The professional service created space quickly and easily. The beer garden was busy. A couple of beer tables and benches were quickly there. Great food and very friendly service. Thanks to the whole team. We'll be back, I promise. Greetings from the motorcyclists.

Very fine food. A mixture of traditional Lake Constance dishes and cross-cultural cuisine at a very high level. Cozy dining room and beautiful outdoor area under large old trees, very friendly service. Particular emphasis is placed on the purchase of regional products and sometimes fair meat. Be sure to try the potato gratin and, above all, make a reservation. We will be back

The lion in Altheim is really something special. The dishes are simply awesome and the service is great. The Löwen + eins events are really mega, only recommended, but you have to reserve a place very early (months in advance). Keep it up, we'll be back.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is great. It is very cozy and pleasant. As a customer you will be spoiled with attention. The food tastes delicious. How great the dishes are visually prepared, the photos show best.

The saltimbocca was incredibly delicious. And the salad including dressing could convince the whole group. Nice ambience, perfect service (Ute!) And talented young chef! This was definitely not our last visit!

Glad we made the trip from Lake Constance up here! Great atmosphere with friendly service in a family run place with a long tradition of culinary excellence. We had the (tasting) menu - great use of local ingredients, the best white asparagus soup in Germany or the Netherlands. Looking forward to our next trip!
